Follow These Steps to Apply for the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate

1. On-Line Application for Certificate, (pdf application)

2. After approval from MGE Department, Apply to Graduate College for admission, $50 application fee

3. Register for courses through Continuing Education and Academic Outreach (CEAO), $25 processing fee

4. Pay tuition and registration fees to CEAO

 

What Does it Cost?

Certificate tuition is the same as the Master of Engineering degree. As of Spring 2007 the rates are:

$2078.50/3 unit course for residents of Arizona or if your employer has a business address in Arizona

$2492.50/3 units course for non-residents of Arizona

Program Details

Each program requires 15 units of graduate coursework with a grade of B or better and all courses are available via distance. Each course is the same as offered to residential MS and Ph.D. students, taught by professional faculty members and industry executives.

Upon successful completion of the program, the units may transfer into a Master of Engineering degree. No GRE exam is required for admission to the program. Applicants who do not have a degree from an English-speaking university must complete the TOEFL (or equivalent) to demonstrate proficiency in English.

To transfer the courses into a Master of Engineering degree, a time limit of 6 years applies.

Academic Background

Enrollment is limited to graduates of accredited engineering bachelors program and other cognate degrees (i.e., biology, chemistry, geology, industrial hygiene, physics, MIS, etc.) with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary prerequisites completed for the courses in the certificate program. To be admitted to this certificate program, candidates should have two years of progressively responsible professional experience, preferably in a field related to the specific option selected for study.

Course substitutions or changes in electives are allowed with the approval of the MGE faculty member in charge of the selected track.
