Welcome

For the past 120 years, the Department of Mining and Geological Engineering has been the only university level program in the state providing education and research programs devoted to minerals engineering and the science and engineering of non-renewable resources.  We are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, 111 Market Place, Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202-4012 - telephone: (410) 347-7700.  A summary of our accreditation objectives and outcomes can be found under the "Resources" link on this page or on the College of Engineering accreditation page.

We fulfill the land grant mission of the university by providing engineering education, research, and outreach focusing on the sustainable development of mineral resources.
