Purpose of the MGE Job Board
The primary goal of the MGE Job Board is to connect our MGE students and alumni with prospective employers in the Mining Industry and to provide our esteemed industry partners with an efficient and hassle-free way to find qualified candidates for full-time, part-time and internship positions.
As a secondary objective, we also offer the use of the MGE Job Board to outside job and internship seekers who are carefully screened and approved on a case-by-case basis based on the criteria described in this document.
Authorized Users
The MGE Department has worked hard to cultivate a successful working relationship with the companies that post jobs to this job board. In order to preserve the integrity of these relationships, the MGE Department screens both job seekers and companies wishing to post job and internship openings. THE MGE DEPARTMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DENY OR REVOKE JOB BOARD ACCESS TO ANY INDIVIDUAL OR COMPANY AT THE DEPARTMENT'S SOLE DISCRETION AND WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE.
Companies are granted permission to post job openings and view resumes by the Department Head.
Students and alumni of the U of A MGE Department are granted access to the job boards by MGE Department Staff or Faculty.
Requests from other job or internship seekers wishing to have access will be evaluated on a case by case basis. When registering, please be sure to provide all of the requested information so that we can properly evaluate your request for an account.
Resumes Uploaded and Anonymous Browsing
Registered job and internship seekers are requested to fill out a profile including relevant education information as well as contact information. This information is ONLY made available to prospective employers if a resume is uploaded to your profile. Otherwise you may browse job openings anonymously, but YOU must contact the prospective employer if interested in a particular job or internship opportunity.
Privacy and Contact Information
Company representatives using the MGE Job Board agree that by posting job openings, they will make their personal and company profile and contact information available to approved job seekers.
Job and internship seekers using the MGE Job Board will only have their contact information displayed to prospective employers if they upload their resume as well as described in the previous section.
Unauthorized Use
Unauthorized use of the MGE Job Board is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. Such unauthorized use includes but is not limited to:
- Attempts to bypass username and password system
- Other attempts to "hack" or cause damage to the job board
- Providing false or misleading information to the board administrators in order to attempt to gain access to the job board
- Re-transmitting or otherwise utilizing the information on job/internship openings posted on this job board
- Re-transmitting or otherwise passing contact information or resumes to third parties. Transfer of this information within your company or organization is authorized for approved job board users.
- Job board access by any person or company who can be considered to be a third party recruiter or "headhunter"
