Things You Need to Do and Know About

Money

WUE - you must re-apply for WUE status each semester

Scholarships - submit your electronic application by May 20 each year. Treat the biography essay as what you would tell an interviewer in a job interview. Make sure your name is on all files you email to the department

Financial Aid - don't forget to fill out a FAFSA each year. Follow the financial aid office deadlines for all application materials. Remember, you can use the Stafford Loan that is automatic with the FAFSA application as a bridge loan while you wait for scholarship money to arrive. It will take you about 2 paychecks after you graduate to pay off the typical Stafford Loan of $3500 with the typical Mining Engineering starting salary.

Advising

Curriculum

Check UA Catalog for major and minor requirements.

*The College of Engineering will not request general accreditation for the G EN program when the next accreditation General Review comes up in 2010. The program continues to be fully accredited by ABET until that time.

The G EN curriculum is being merged into the MNE undergraduate BS degree program as an option within that program. When that merger is completed, The G EN option within the MNE degree program will be a fully accredited degree program.
