Through tours and community activities at the laboratory, the San Xavier Mine is also extensively used as means for educating the general public on the importance of the mineral and construction industries as a tool for recruiting students into related occupations. While it serves as an invaluable resource, the San Xavier Mining Laboratory is self-supported from training activities and the donations by local companies and individuals.
